Alberta Water Polo Association is excited to release details about the 2024 Team Alberta program.
Alberta Water Polo uses this summer program to not only help train Alberta athletes to be better players, but also to provide them an experience that simulates a Water Polo Canada age group team. Our hope is that from this experience they will be prepared to potentially participate in a WPC age group team in the future and be better able to overcome some of the obstacles that athletes might have joining these teams. Teamwork in and out of the water, being away from home, traveling far distances, relying on teammates are all important learning experiences on this trip. Similar to a WPC age group program we will try to have some brief time after the games for parents to see their athletes.
All athletes who are interested in being scouted and/or attending the camp in either the Calgary or Edmonton area will need to register through this package. Even if you can not attend a camp you must be registered.
Selection for the 2024 Team Alberta rosters will take into consideration scouting at a variety of competition events (both in person and via NCL Livestream) and from the Team Alberta 15U Identification Camps which will be held:
-March 17 Sunday Calgary MNP -after Alberta Open -time TBA
-March 24 Sunday Kinsmen Centre (after SR NCL event) -time TBA
We strongly encourage all registered athletes to attend the Team Alberta Identification Camp in their region. We have secured 2 regional camps for those area athletes to attend and based on registration number, limit athletes to attend only 1. This communication will be sent out before the first camp.
