Minor Officials

Minor Official Training 2024-2025

The Alberta Water Polo Association has developed an online training system for all Minor Officials. These courses were designed in order to simplify the training process for our volunteers and ensure consistency among our minor officials. The trainings are consistent with the information found in the Water Polo Canada Minor Officials Handbook.

There is a course for each Minor Officials Position. There are additional supplementary videos that you must watch for the positions of Game Clock Operator and Possession Clock Operator. These were created to help further your understanding of the rules as they apply to these two roles.

At the end of each course, there is an exam with video questions. The passing grade for each exam is 80%. You must take the course and pass the exam for every position you wish to work as a Minor Official.

For the 2024-2025 season it is required for all minor officials who are signed up for working positions, to complete the training/test for their position before the tournament weekend. Should you need any assistance or support, please contact AWPA
